0000 . @everyone . not my favorite post!
Perhaps, being the leader of the most notoriously violent pack of canines, it would be strange of Singe to say she had an eye for beauty. Not typical beauty, but the kind she could only find in the bends and curves of the land and the brilliantly vibrant colors of the sky. That's why one of her favorite places is at the cliffs. The area also held a certain element of danger to it--one misstep could mean death. The plummet off the rocky edge would be fatal. So, naturally, the Australian Shepherd lay near the edge, her front paws dangling over the swirling water below.
The sun had just come up, its rays alighting the spray from the crashing waves. Singe could feel the cool saltwater on her face and sighed quietly. Her gaze was fixated on the horizon, watching intently as if it would change before her eyes. She almost never lets her mind wander, but today seemed to be an exception. The mist felt as though it had seeped into her muscles, relaxing her entire body. It was easy for her to think. Mostly, she thought of her pack. Singe still wasn't sure how she wanted to organize it, and that wouldn't be an easy decision for her. She was a picky dog. And though it wasn't large yet, she hoped eventually it would be, so there had to be a place for everyone.
A rustle made her lift her head from her paws. The fields behind her were a common place for canines to come and hunt. Usually for rabbits, mice, and the like. But the tall grass ended several feet away from the cliffs and regular, shorter grass grew up to the edge. Not wanting to look too curious, she perked her ears, but didn't turn her head around. If the stranger wanted to approach, they would. If they didn't, well, it wasn't her business. Perhaps it was only a field creature, anyhow. Singe's mismatched gaze narrowed out toward the water, the sunlight gleaming off her icy blue eye. And with that, she waited. ✤
