THE PLOT Khint Key used to be a flourishing island that attracted any and every kind of tourist. It was full of rich native history and plenty of shopping and activities to keep families busy for days. And with them, they brought their dogs. There were plenty of wild native canines that roamed the open fields and forests as well. Soon, the whole island's canine population was building at an alarming rate.
Only in the last few months, vacationers to Khint Key began returning home with a sickness that wracked their bodies with violent flu-like symptoms. The news was all over this, especially when two of the cases were told to be fatal. Humans began to fear the island. However, the canine population seemed to be immune to this new virus. They were thriving as ever.
The humans wanted to know why.
An evacuation was called for Khint Key. All persons were to return to their native countries, and the ones living on the island were ordered to leave. It has only been two weeks since the humans left, and the dogs and wild canines have the island to themselves. Packs are rising--loners getting together to learn to survive in their newly-vacated environment. Clashes are inevitable. But there are much bigger problems to be concerned about.
Scientists were fascinated with the canines' immunity. They could hold the key for future medication. So a team of specialists was sent to Khint Key to set traps of all kinds on the island, with the sole purpose of capturing the canines. Those who are taken are never seen from again, and often gone without warning. Once one is trapped, it is nearly impossible to find a way out.
The canines of Khint Key need to be wary. Anxiety caused by the traps has created tension on the island, and everyone is walking on thin ice. They must avoid the traps at all cost and, if possible, find them and set them off before they can hurt anyone else.
